Quick verdict

Morozko lists the Forge at $12,490 for the 60 in tub and $13,990 for the 66 in tub, cooling to 32 F with ice-making, chlorine-free microfiltration with ozone, a 110 V cord and a 1-year warranty. That is about $4,500 to $6,900 more than Plunge's sale prices. No study shows water colder than about 50 F does more for health, and cold immersion has no proven longevity benefit.

Premium

Morozko Forge

Morozko · $12,490, or $13,990 for the longer tub (Morozko, checked 29 Sept 2026)

Price as of July 2026. Check the retailer for the current price and availability.

Pros

  • Cools to 32 F and can make ice, per Morozko
  • Ozone disinfection and chlorine-free microfiltration, per Morozko
  • Plugs into a 110 V outlet with inline GFCI, per Morozko

Cons

  • $12,490, the most expensive tub we compared
  • 79 or 85 inches long
  • 1-year warranty only

The short answer: The Morozko Forge is priced at $12,490 for the 60 in tub ($13,990 for the 66 in tub) on Morozko’s own page (checked 29 Sept 2026), not the $7,990 an earlier version of this page gave. Morozko lists a 32 F minimum with ice-making, chlorine-free microfiltration plus ozone, 79 or 85 inch lengths, a standard 110 V cord with inline GFCI and a 1-year parts-and-labor warranty. Buy it only if you specifically want ice-cold water, quiet operation and a premium build. The research does not show that colder water gives more benefit, and cold immersion has no proven longevity effect.

What the research says

  • Recovery. A 2023 meta-analysis of 28 studies found cold water immersion better than other recovery methods for muscle soreness. The abstract does not say colder water worked better; temperature and time were rarely moderators.
  • Strength training. A 2026 network meta-analysis of 87 studies found passive recovery did best for strength gains, moderate certainty; its ranges for cold protocols were 5 to 8 C, 9 to 12 C and 13 to 20 C, all above freezing.
  • Cold adaptation. A 2021 study of winter-swimming men found they had greater cold-induced thermogenesis than controls; it did not test tub temperatures or health outcomes.
  • Safety. A physiology review reports cold water can trigger heart-rhythm problems in healthy volunteers.

We found no study showing that near-freezing water beats cooler-but-not-freezing water for any health outcome.

Who it suits, who should skip it

Pick it if you already plunge regularly, want ice-cold water, quiet running and a compact premium build, and the price is not the deciding factor.

Skip it if this is your first cold plunge (a cheaper tub or a cold shower tests the habit; see cold showers), you have any heart, blood pressure or circulation condition (ask your doctor), or you lift for strength and want the evidence above. Background: cold plunge evidence, cold exposure protocol.

Corrected the price ($12,490 on Morozko's page, not $7,990), warranty (1 year), size and power, and removed the 33 F wording, cedar and 18-gauge steel claims, the 50 F 'sweet spot' protocol claims, and the Plunge Pro comparison at the old prices.
